I was born and raised in Oregon.
I went to Hollywood to cut my teeth, photographing professional models, athletes, actors, and musicians. My clients were modeling & sports agencies, apparel companies, record labels, and magazines such as Rolling Stone, Outside, National Geographic Adventure, Sports Illustrated, and others.
After four years, I had an unique visual style -- and some great stories -- but in creating commercial imagery to feed other people's marketing machines, I nearly lost my love for the art.
I had an idea for change. A couple ideas actually:
- Bring advertising-quality, magazine-style photography to everyday people -- people like you and me.
- Concentrate on documenting youth -- and family -- where that amazing collision of love and vitality inspire people to reveal themselves at their greatest.
PHOTOWORKS was born.
What is PHOTOWORKS?
Imagine Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, Esquire or any killer magazine coming to you and saying, "We want to do a huge photo shoot story with you. We can go to your choice of locations, have unlimited wardrobe changes, and include any friends or family you want."
This is, essentially, is what our studio offers to you.
We are specialists in telling YOUR story through dynamic, documentary-inspired imagery. We spend a few hours, a half day, whatever it takes -- and shoot on location, anywhere, anytime.
We bring a photographer, assistants, and a modern digital photo studio -- including portable lighting systems -- to any scenario you can think of.
The final manifestation of the shoot is an incredible custom hardcover art storybook -- yours to share for always.
We believe in the moment. We're ready when it appears. We'll deliver the coolest photographs of you ever taken, and you'll have a great time in the process. We love what we do, and it shows.
Check out our website, and give us a call. Make an appointment at our Lake Oswego studio, and I'll meet with you, show you some pictures, and find out what you're into. There are some amazing images of you yet to be created.
Thanks for your time,
Ty
